Peter McGowan

BE(Mech) PhD, GDip MatE Ph.D. FIEAust, CPEng
40+ years in Mechanical and Materials Engineering
Peter has over 40 years of experience, including as a design engineer, senior design engineer, senior consultant, manager mechanical engineering and as a Chief Mechanical Engineer.
Peter’s expertise is extensive, including mechanical equipment design, mathematical modelling, vibration and noise modelling, rotating machinery, commissioning, construction, plant (site) maintenance, pressure vessel and heat exchanger design, novel equipment design, road tanker analysis, failure analysis, heat transfer, materials and corrosion, plant uprates, reactor design, high temperature materials, finite element analysis of stress and heat transfer.
Peter has also acted as expert witness work for several legal cases. Peter is chairman of ME1/3 (Standards Australia Pressure Vessel Committee) and a member of ASME Pressure Vessel Committees.
